Pho Time Restaurant in Markham – where the renowned Vietnamese dish Pho has been ready to be the place for people to pay a homage. A restaurant interior project that both evokes the love for our roots as Vietnamese, and also challenging enough to bring out the iconic features of Indochine style – a bygone era yet still immortal, at least in architecture world.

Design in Details

We came up with the idea of leveraging all Vietnamese heritage through all aspects of the restaurant interior design. The Indochine style, masterfully executed by talented designers, crafting a world of Asian atmosphere. All lies in the thoughtful fusion of Eastern and Western aesthetics. The Indochine interior design is more than just aesthetics; it’s a storytelling masterpiece. It embodies as a journey, adorned with visual allure, proudly voices out the cultural richness.

It can be said that it’s a nostalgic feeling to all of the customers visiting Pho Time, even if they are not Asian or Vietnamese. To bring this aesthetic to life, we’ve got to incorporate a wide array of iconic elements into one place. How to intertwine the Vietnamese motifs that is too iconic, and familiar, but with an authentic touch. It needs to be specific, distinguished and reflects exotic characteristics.

Design Philosophy:

Our design philosophy is rooted in the belief that spaces should evoke emotion and tell a story. By honoring Vietnamese traditions while embracing contemporary design elements, we aim to create environments that are both inspiring and inviting. Interior design is being told through the storyline of culture of a whole country, or region.

As you can see the wood tones, with red-brick walls, reminiscent of ancient houses dated back in previous centuries. The chandeliers are in the shape of conical hats – a traditional hat reflects beauty of Vietnam. We also placed Vietnamese Dong Ho folk paintings, that contribute perfectly into creating a truly Vietnamese traditional space – where gave birth to the popular Pho and other well-known Vietnamese dishes.

Materiality is a cornerstone of our design philosophy. Wood types are known for sustainability and durability, not to mention the nostalgic beauty of it. Every material decision was made with dedication, assuring its tactile qualities and how it attributes to the whole space.

The earthy tones of woody brown, hues of yellow and green are complemented one another, as they are a sensible and smart combination when it comes to Indochine interior design. We’ve got to make sure to expose their aesthetic appeal and psychological impact. Since it’s one of the first things customers look at our whole space and feel invited.

Lighting displayed and played with layered approach. Such warm lighting in the dining areas fosters a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. We calculate and skeptical in each minor details on how to make the best of the dining experiences. And lighting technique, system, combination should be one of the factors. That’s kind of accumulative work of restaurant interior design to be specific.

From the interior designs, the ambience and mostly every corner confronted, Vietnamese materials and traditional beauty exist as an immortal icon.

Incredible Result

It’s a testament to the power of architectural design in transporting guests beyond time and place. A visit to your favourite Vietnamese food turns into a journey throughout times. How magical, is it? The core of us doing restaurant interior design is at how we delectably choose the essence of the cuisine and its attached culture.
